About us

Stefan Keller is a journalist. As a regular contributor to the «Schweizerische Weinzeitung», he writes on economic topics, among others. His specialities include portraits and reports commissioned by the media and companies. He organises and moderates events of all kinds. Keller is a wine producer in Valtellina in Lombardy and produces exceptional Swiss distillates with schnaps.ch. He is a founding and honorary member of the «Mémoire des Vins Suisses» association and an honorary member of the «Sommelier Verband Schweiz». Stefan Keller lives and works in Switzerland and Vienna.

Das Pöstli – Garni

The rooms are available daily from 17 April 2025 to 20 October 2025. The parlour is open over Easter and then again regularly from Whitsun. The regular opening hours are Thursday to Sunday from 3 pm to 8 pm. There are 4 double rooms on offer, one of which has an extra bed, as well as a small single room. Prices from CHF 60 to CHF 150 per room and night including Italian breakfast (cappuccino or tea and brioche) in the Bar Rossi on the other side of the bridge. Guests are given a code to access the house and the rooms. Car and bicycle parking is available. Information on availability: https://daspoestli.smoobu.net .

Eating out in the neighbourhood

Five minutes' walk away, on the Italian side, is the Altavilla, Vito's pizzeria-restaurant, open for lunch and dinner (except Monday).  An almost half-hour walk along the Maira (now called Mera on the Italian side) leads to Lanterna Verde, the only one-star Michelin restaurant in the province of Sondrio. The food served from the Tonola family's kitchen and cellar is to die for. Open for lunch and dinner except Tuesday and Wednesday, closed only on Wednesdays in August.

Shopping

La Butega in the centre of the village has everything you need for everyday shopping. The shop is run by the villagers on a rotational basis. Opening hours Monday to Saturday mornings.

Public transport

The Swiss Post bus stop (Vecchia Dogana) is on the doorstep. Departure times in the direction of St. Moritz from 5.23 a.m., more or less hourly until 10.24 p.m., in the direction of Chiavenna from 7.33 a.m., then more or less hourly until 10.26 p.m. Daily direct connection from Castasegna 11.00 a.m. to Lugano.
